Tenuta Vermiglio is a farmhouse from 1590, patiently restored: honey-coloured stone, chestnut beams, arched doorways and a spiral staircase. There are only six rooms, so no one becomes a room number. Here, every guest is known by name.

Your host, Livia Orsini
Livia is the fourth generation of the family that makes the estate’s Brunello. She restored the farmhouse stone by stone and runs it herself: she opens the cellar for you, walks you through the rows and sends you to the osteria where the people of Montalcino eat, not the one on the postcards.

Find the answers to your questions
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 15:00 to 22:00, check-out by 11:00. If you arrive early or leave late, we are happy to keep your luggage while you enjoy the pool or a coffee on the loggia.
Is breakfast included in the rate?
Always. We serve it under the pergola, with bread from the Montalcino bakery, pecorino, seasonal fruit, homemade cakes and freshly made coffee. When it turns cold we move into the salon.
Do I need a car? Where can I park?
A car is recommended: the Val d’Orcia is best explored that way. Parking on the estate is free. The last 800 metres are a white gravel road, so simply take it slowly.
Can I bring my pet?
Small pets are welcome on request. Write to us before booking and we will prepare the room with a bowl and a cushion. Around the house there are miles of countryside to explore.
Do you arrange airport transfers?
Yes, on request. Florence is about an hour and three quarters away, Rome Fiumicino about two and a half hours. A driver meets you in arrivals; just send us your flight details.
