The Val d’Orcia is a UNESCO World Heritage landscape, and you understand why at the first bend: hills that change colour with the seasons, lines of cypresses, villages perched on ridges. Montalcino is eight minutes away, Pienza just over half an hour, and at night there is only the quiet of the vines.

Getting here
Florence airport (FLR)
About an hour and three quarters by car: the motorway to Siena, then south along the Via Cassia. You can hire a car at the airport, or we can arrange a transfer on request.
Rome Fiumicino airport (FCO)
About two and a half hours by car, north on the A1 as far as the Valdichiana exit. Useful for long-haul arrivals; we can arrange a transfer with a driver we trust.
By train
The nearest stations are Buonconvento, on the Siena–Grosseto line, and Chiusi, on the main line south from Florence. We will collect you with our transfer, on request.
By car
Leave the A1 at the Valdichiana exit, or come down from Siena on the Via Cassia (SR2). The last 800 metres are a white gravel road: drive slowly and enjoy the view.
